Setting a new standard for Ice Skating Facilities that are multi purpose, self sustaining and a place the community can enjoy! It will take many resources and years for Anchorage to develop a plan, raise the funding and go through the permitting process to make this vision a reality.
INSPIRED BY CANADA'S SPORTS GAMES CENTRE
A Multi-Sport and Community Facility
The Canada Games Centre facilities offer multi-sport, fitness, health clinic and therapy, community rooms, child care, concessions with retail and food service providers.
The community of Whitehorse (population between 25,000-30,000) build the facility in 2007 to host the Canada Winter Games (https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/cgc-10-years-1.3267063) the facility average pre-covid users was approximately 3,000.
